FAQs

What makes Palmiers sunglasses special?

Most sunglasses make you choose between quality and price. We refused. Every pair of Palmiers is built from Mazzucchelli Italian acetate — the same material used by heritage luxury brands — paired with our exclusive warm-filtered nylon lenses. The result is a frame that looks expensive, and feels considered.

Are your lenses protective against UV rays?

Yes — all Palmiers lenses offer full UV400 protection against both UVA and UVB rays. The warm filter isn’t just aesthetic; it’s engineered to reduce glare and eye strain while keeping your vision sharp. Looking good and protecting your eyes shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.

Where are Palmiers sunglasses made?

Each pair is handcrafted in Vietnam, where generations of artisanal eyewear expertise meet meticulous contemporary production. Our frames go through up to 72 steps before they reach you — assembled by skilled craftspeople who treat every hinge, every edge, and every lens like it matters. Because it does.

Are Palmiers prescription compatible?

Yes — select styles are available to switch with prescription lenses. Our entire Nouvelle Collection is prescription compatible, and the Saffron colorway in both The Pilot and The Driver can also be made with your prescription. Just take your lenses to your local optician.

What are your frames made from?

Our frames are made from Mazzucchelli acetate, sourced from Italy. Mazzucchelli has been producing premium acetate since 1849 — it’s the material of choice for the most respected names in eyewear. It’s hypoallergenic, lightweight, and gets better looking over time. No plastic imposters here.

Why did you choose nylon lenses?

Nylon lenses are optically superior — they’re lighter, more impact-resistant, and clearer than standard CR-39 plastic lenses. They also hold our proprietary warm filter better than any other material we tested. We chose nylon because we refused to compromise on how the world looks through your Palmiers.

Why is the pattern on my frames different from what is pictured?

That’s the beauty of acetate — no two pairs are exactly alike. Mazzucchelli acetate is cut from large sheets, meaning the swirl, grain, and pattern on your frames is genuinely one of a kind. Think of it less like a variance and more like a signature.

How should I care for my Palmiers?

Rinse with lukewarm water, dry with your Palmiers cleaning cloth (doubles as a checkers mat, just so you know), and store in the case when not in use. Avoid leaving them on your dashboard — extreme heat warps acetate. Treat them well and they’ll last years.
